For any of you who read Teen Vogue, you know of Mary Kate Steinmiller. She interned for three years before landing a job, and has worked her way up to Market Fashion Editor (aka my dream job). MK attends all of the NYFW shows, meets with designers, helps TV decide what designers and pieces are in, and even sometimes styles for the magazine. She has become known on the street style scene for her chic yet simple style, and even has her own jewelery line, which in the past has sold at Henri Bendel’s and Fred Segal.
As if this all wasn’t reason enough to love her, she’s an alumna of my high school.
This weekend is alum weekend at my school, and she was given the Young Alum of the Year award, which means she came to speak to us, and I even got to meet her! She grew up in the same town that I did, but moved to NYC to attend Parsons The New School of Design her sophomore year of college.
I can’t wait to see what else she does.. Her dream is to be EIC; I believe she will be!
